Parent Portal

The parent portal gives parents their own login to see what their child is learning — without needing a teacher account. They see the upcoming lesson schedule and can access each week's parent page with take-home resources.

What Is the Parent Portal?

When parents log in to the parent portal, they see:

  • Last week's lesson (with a "Last week" label)
  • The next 8 weeks of upcoming lessons
  • A Parent Page button for each lesson — a printable, family-friendly summary of the story with take-home discussion questions
  • A Full Lesson link if they want to see the complete lesson content

If your ministry runs multiple services, parents select their child's service at the top and the schedule updates accordingly. All services start collapsed so they choose the right one.

Setting Up Parent Access

Go to Parent Access in the Tools menu. The page has three sections: your invite link, your registered parents list, and shareable parent page links.

1

Copy the invite link

Your invite link is generated automatically. Click Copy to copy it to your clipboard.

2

Share it with parents

Paste the link in your church bulletin, weekly email, or group text. Anyone who clicks the link can create a free parent account connected to your ministry. No teacher access is granted — parents only see the parent portal.

3

Parents register and log in

Parents click the link, enter their name, email, and a password, and they're in. After registering they're taken directly to the parent portal. On future visits they log in at teachusthebible.com/login.php.

Managing Registered Parents

The Registered Parents section on the Parent Access page shows everyone who has signed up. You can see their name, email, and registration date.

To remove a parent's access, click the Remove button next to their name. They will no longer be able to log in. Existing parent accounts are not affected by regenerating the invite link.

Emailing Parents

You can send a message to all registered parents at once from the Email Parents page (accessible via the button at the top of the Parent Access page). See the Email Parents help article for full details.

If you want to prevent new parents from joining using the old link (for example, after a ministry season ends), click Regenerate Link. The old link immediately stops working for new signups. Parents who have already registered are not affected — their accounts remain active.

Share the new link when you're ready to open registration again.

Don't want parents to create an account? No problem. Each lesson has a direct parent page link you can copy from the Parent Access page and paste into a bulletin or email. Anyone with the link can view that lesson's parent page — no login required.

This is a good option for one-off sharing (e.g. "Here's the parent page for this Sunday's lesson") while the invite link is better for ongoing parent engagement.
